I really can't say what my favourite book or scene is (I love them all), but I can say that I absolutely adore Ryan. He's an interesting character, and I love the way you write him. C:
As for pronouns.. I would advise against delving into the mire that is gender-neutral pronouns in the english language. Especially since we don't really have any.
Concerning art... most of the paid commissions I have done have been of the "Digital Painting" variety, but I also use Paint (Acrylics and watercolors-- might get into oils later, but I've been told that they aren't as forgiving as acrylics), ink, and good old-fashioned pencil sketching. That being said, I still don't think I'm any good at any of them... but people have still been paying me, so I guess I'm doing something right?

He's taken a while to get right, and he's always a careful balancing act when I'm in his head, but he's worth it. ^_^
